HARMONIA: THE COMPLETE WORKS

The pioneering Krautrock act in full, plus trimmings.

With Dieter Moebius and Hans-Joachim Roedelius of Cluster, plus Michael Rother of Neu!, Harmonia is the '70s "supergroup" that made Krautrock mellow - at least by Teutonic standards. While they and their peers drew inspiration from the future-shock of Cologne and Düsseldorf, Harmonia formed after Moebius and Roedelius moved to the village of Forst, where Rother joined them - and the atmosphere obviously sank in. Working in a ramshackle mansion, Harmonia combined ambient sound with insistent rhythm that was at once soothing and engaging. This five-LP box-set includes it all: the delicate Musik Von Harmonia and the more propulsive Deluxe; Tracks And Traces, the LP of sessions they did with Brian Eno; Live 1974; plus a disc of outtakes and live jams named after venues they were played in. Great music for driving, as long as you don't mind getting lost.
