Former art students remake/remodel rock.

There was nothing accidental about Roxy Music. Fronted by art student Bryan Ferry, the sextet spent a year crafting their camp sophisticated avant-rock: merging echoes of Soft Machine, King Crimson and The Velvet Underground with Ferry's virtuoso songwriting. Central to their otherness was Brian Eno, the egg-headed non-musician, whose 'treatments' - via VCS3 synthesizer and Revox tape - gave their debut a throbbing, sublimely dislocating edge.
