BRIAN ENO - NEW SOUND INSTALLATION

September 20 - October 3, 2014

Fylkingen - New Music And Intermedia Art are delighted to announce the exhibition of a new sound installation by legendary musician, artist and producer Brian Eno.

The work, newly created in the space at Fylkingen, will consist of a large array of different sound sources: large and small, old and new, found and appropriated, high quality and lo-fi. These elements will be deployed throughout the space for the presentation of a shifting, multi-layered soundscape. The resultant sound of the work being definitively coloured by the physical nature and unique characteristics of the diverse assemblage of audio elements utilised.

This new exhibition at Fylkingen represents Brian Eno's first showing in Sweden since 1985, offering the Stockholm audience the rare opportunity to experience the installation work of this highly influential artist.

Brian Eno is an English musician, composer, record producer, singer and artist, known as one of the principal innovators of ambient music. He has created audio-visual installations and exhibited at galleries and institutions internationally.

Brian Eno has produced and performed on albums by David Bowie, Talking Heads and U2, as well as worked on records by James, Laurie Anderson, Coldplay, Paul Simon, and Grace Jones, among many others.

Eno's solo work has been highly influential, pioneering both ambient and generative music, as well as developing a range of experimental and innovative production techniques. His latest albums Someday World and High Life are collaborations with Karl Hyde, and are available on Warp.

The exhibition at Fylkingen will be accompanied by a public lecture event at Moderna Museet in which Brian Eno will explore the creative processes and ideas that drive his work.
