DAVID BYRNE AND BRIAN ENO: EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS WILL HAPPEN TODAY
Twenty-seven years after My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts, David Byrne and Brian Eno reunite on a follow-up album. The jangling African guitars on Life Is Long and the high-tech jitteriness of I Feel My Stuff hint at the adventurous mix of music of their earlier album; but in general the veteran avant-pop pair forswear experimentation in favour of gentle gospel-tinged harmonies and mid-tempo rhythms. As Byrne himself sings, "This groove is out of fashion / These beats are twenty years old".
