NATALIE IMBRUGLIA RECRUITS COLDPLAY AND ENO
Australia-born singer Natalie Imbruglia has teamed up with Coldplay and Brian Eno for her first new album in four years.
The new set, Come To Life, is released in the U.K. October 5 on Island Records. A European release follows on October 12. The album will be preceded by lead single Want, which Imbruglia wrote with Coldplay's Chris Martin. Two other Coldplay collaborations, Fun and Lukas will also appear on Come To Life, with the latter produced by Brian Eno.
The rest of the album was produced by Ben Hillier (Blur, Elbow, Depeche Mode), and arrives four years after the artist's last studio album Counting Down The Days, which debuted at No. 1 on the U.K.'s Official Charts Company listing.
Having first burst onto the international music scene in 1997 with debut studio set Left Of The Middle, Imbruglia's total album sales now amount to eight million worldwide, whilst her singles sales total over two million, according to her label.
The singer will preview material from the album via U.K. shows at Brighton's Concorde 2 venue, August 4 and London's three-hundred-capacity Luminaire venue, August 12 - her first London gig in four years, which sold out the day it was announced. A subsequent London show takes places August 19 at the Lexington club venue.
Imbruglia is also scheduled to play sets at Rock Oz'Arénes Festival, Switzerland, August 15 and the dual-site U.K. V Festival, August 22-23.
