CHUCK D, BRIAN ENO AND MORE JOIN THE GRID NYC
Event aims to reinvent the music fest experience in Manhattan's Meatpacking District.
A new type of music fest is headed to Manhattan's Meatpacking District this May - a don't-call-me-a-music-fest type of gathering called The Grid NYC. Held May 4-7, the "collaborative campus" will feature indie favorites, music legends and rising stars as performers, speakers or storytellers.
The roster of talent so far is impressive. The incalculably influential Brian Eno, the fearless Chuck D of Public Enemy, guitar hero Dave Navarro and rising stars Twenty One Pilots will participate as speakers or storytellers. Indie favorites St. Lucia, Frank Turner, Butch Walker, Sam King and White Sea (project of M83 collaborator Morgan Kibby) will perform in various venues spanning the Meatpacking District and Brooklyn.
Other events include "Warped Tour Rewind" from fest founder Kevin Lyman, "Emo Re-Boot" hosted by Dashboard Confessional's Chris Carrabba and a Communion Music showcase curated by Mumford & Sons' Ben Lovett.
Tickets go on sale Friday at TheGridNYC.com. Additional talent for the event will be announced in the coming weeks.
