THE LEISURE SOCIETY INTRODUCE NEW DOUBLE LP ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES

Lead song God Has Taken A Vacation is online now...

The Leisure Society have introduced their bold new double album Arrivals & Departures. The record lands on April 12, and comes almost exactly ten years after the release of the band's debut single.

Yet the process behind the LP wasn't exactly easy. Lead songwriter Nick Hemmings and flautist Helen Whitaker separated, and during this lengthy process Nick moved out of their Brighton home.

As a result, the record has many different homes. Arrivals & Departures was recorded in rented homes across the Peak District, the Cotswolds, and even a medieval mansion in Richelieu, France.

Eager to record string and choral sections for the record, The Leisure Society even snuck into London's Union Chapel for some late night sessions - with guest voices including Brian Eno and the poet Liz Berry.

New song God Has Taken A Vacation is online now, with Nick commenting:

"I started writing the song about my break up, but world events started finding their way in too. Division, borders, a loss of hope. There were a lot of shared themes!"

Tune in now.
